Barges & Lighters – Wallaby-Class / Wattle-Class Ships
Known for their robust construction, Wallaby-Class Self Propelled Water & Fuel Lighters (SPWFL) and Wattle-Class crane stores lighter vessel’s primary function was to transport fuel, water, sullage, ammunition and other goods between larger vessels and the shore, also assisting in controlling oil spills and towing when required.
These lighters offer civilian commercial functions, including passenger and goods ferrying, towing and coastal clean-up operations.
